Last week I was having a few drinks with some friends at a new bar just next to the sea situated in our great capital!
Had a few shots of "captain Morgan" a bottle of "Gavi di Gavi"and since it was very hot we decided to order a refreshing cocktail! (big mistake)
We all opted for a "Mojito" I love it!! It is just amazingly good especially on hot summer evenings!!
well to start with,...one of the attendants didn't even know they made cocktails!!! (I wish that they didn't make at all ..but anyway)
The bar man said that he made one of the best on the island!! (yeah right my ass!!!)
So all of us looked in silence and stood still staring at him so to steal his trick and know how (unfortunately that didn't happen!!)
He grabbed a long glass a "slim Jim" placed a few cubes of ice ...(don't scream now Mojito lovers!!)
poured a good sized shot of lime cordial !!! (faint)....
Bacardi and soda ...that's it !!
we all looked at each other and no one said a word not even a single one!! so just like a bunch of "cunts" we grabbed the "best Mojito on the island" and walked to the table!!
took a sip and BLEHHHH!!
moral of the story make sure that whenever you order a cocktail the bar man knows what a cocktail is !!
I give you my version of a Mojito !! wish I could put copyright on this !!
I could give it a name too Hotjito !!
you will need
A good shot of bacardi rum
a teaspoon of brown demarera sugar
crushed Ice
mint
half a lime
a thin slice of ginger root (could be exchanged with ginger ale)
soda water

Place the lime sliced in a jug (glass is best so that there is no reaction !)
the sugar, mint and ginger
use a spoon or a mortar if in hand to squeeze out the juices out of the mint, ginger
and lime
add the bacardi, ice and soda water (if using ginger ale now its the time to pour in exchange of the soda!)
